How to get there / Hitta hit

>> Clonakilty is located about 45 minutes from Cork by car. The closest airport is Cork airport. There is a bus service that runs from Cork to Clonakilty. The train station was closed in 1961 so no trains unfortunately. We travel to Ireland a lot and we have put together some suggestions below in case you find them helpful. We have also compiled a list of the websites of any options we have mentioned in addition to links to directions to the hotel.

There are no direct flights to Cork from anywhere in Scandinavia but there are direct flights available to Dublin from Arlanda (SAS and Aer lingus) and Skavsta (Ryanair). Another alternative is to fly to Cork via London (SAS, Norwegian, British Airways, Aer lingus and Ryanair) or Amsterdam (KLM)

If you decide to fly to Dublin you can get to Cork by train, bus or hire car. The train station is located in another part of Dublin and there is a bus that runs from the airport regularly that takes you through the city of Dublin. There is a bus that runs from Dublin airport to Cork called the aircoach. This is the cheapest option but be warned there is no WC and no tv. Once you get to Cork there is a bus that runs to Clonakilty that takes just over one hour. The hotel is four kilometres from the town so you will need to get a taxi at this point. If you think you will find this too tedious you may decide to hire a car in which case it is important to note that it is left hand traffic. There is a motorway all the way to Cork and the journey takes 3.5 hours depending on traffic, from Cork to Clonakilty it is an A road and will take 45 minutes to get to the hotel.

Om du väljer att flyga till Dublin kan du ta dig till Cork med tåg, buss eller hyrbil. Tågstationen ligger i en annan del av Dublin, men det går en busslinje från flygplatsen till stationen som tar dig genom centrala Dublin. Det går en flygbuss från Dublins flygplats direkt till Cork, vilket är det billigaste alternativet men som dessvärre saknar toalett och tv. När du väl kommit till Cork kan du ta bussen till Clonakilty, vilket tar drygt en timme. Hotellet ligger fyra kilometer från staden Clonakilty så det kan vara läge att ta en taxi. Om du tror att det blir för jobbigt kan du hyra en bil i Dublin, vilket möjligen är det bekvämaste alternativet. Det går motorväg hela vägen till Cork och resan tar cirka 3,5 timmar beroende på trafik. Cork–Clonakilty tar cirka 45 minuter. Tänk dock på att Irland har vänstertrafik.

Bus

The number 237 bus runs from Cork bus station and timetables can be obtained from their website. The bus will drop you in the town so you will need a taxi to take you the rest of the way.

Hire Car

If you wish to hire a car there is information about hiring cars on the Cork airport website or from some websites listed below. The journey from Cork airport to the hotel takes about 45 minutes and is along an A road known for its hold ups but the scenery is fabulous so you won’t mind!

From Cork
